Housing Information
The
Academy does not have on-campus housing. Students can obtain housing in
the area from a number of local, reasonably priced apartments, townhouses,
condominiums and private homes. A list of some of the housing options
in the Daphne area is enclosed. This information is subject to change,
and we recommend you confirm any options before making definite plans.
The
Academy is located in Daphne, Alabama, eight miles across the bay from
Mobile, Alabama. Most students choose to stay in Daphne, but a number of
affordable housing options exist in the Mobile area. These accommodations
are approximately 20-30 minutes drive from the campus and provides a scenic
daily drive across historic Mobile Bay. Additional housing information
for the Mobile area is available upon request.
The
Mobile Airport is approximately 30 miles from the Academy campus. Students
arriving at the airport are responsible for their own transportation.
The
Department of Student Services maintains a list of local people who are
willing to lease rooms in their private homes. No representation is made
as to the quality of such accommodations. It is the student's responsibility
to determine if the accommodations are acceptable. Feel free to contact
Student Services to check on any private rooms that may be available.
If
you are attending one of the shortened spring or summer sessions, you
should inquire about short-term leasing options. These accommodations
rent quickly, so you should attempt to secure a room as soon as possible.
Student
Services will be happy to assist you in finding a roommate. For roommate
matching services, contact the Department of Student Services. This service
does not guarantee a roommate will be found.
