    Dean of Academic Affairs

    General Description
    The United States Sports Academy, an independent, regionally accredited, sport-specific institution of higher learning is seeking a highly motivated individual to serve as the Dean of Academic Affairs. The Dean is the Chief Academic Officer of the institution and a member of the President’s Cabinet. The person in this position is responsible for planning, curricular development and general administration of the Division of Academic Affairs. As approximately 95% of the Academy’s students are distance learners utilizing a computer mediated, asynchronous and transformational program delivery model in a rolling-registration environment, experience in administering academic programs in a non-traditional setting is a must. This position will remain open until a suitable individual is selected.

    Qualifications
    An earned doctorate in one of the disciplines of Sports (Sports Management preferred), with at least ten (10) years teaching and supervisory administrative experience in higher education and evidence of scholarly production are required. The successful candidate must also possess demonstrable and developed computer skills.

    Doctoral Assistantships

    General Description
    The United States Sports Academy is offering a limited number of Doctoral Teaching Assistantships to those who are interested in pursuing a Doctor of Education in Sports Management (Ed.D) degree as a full-time resident student.

    The purpose of the doctoral teaching assistantship is to augment and support the student's doctoral academic program.

    The Doctoral Graduate Assistant assigned to Academic Affairs will play an integral role in the course writing and development of both distance learning and continuing education courses for web-based instruction. The Doctoral Graduate Assistant has the overall responsibility for development, coordination and implementation of new courses for the online delivery system. The graduate assistant will also assist faculty with the development of workshops, seminars, short courses, symposia and institutes offered credit, non-credit or continuing education.

    Qualifications
    Applicants must be admitted into the Doctor of Education in Sports Management program as a student in full standing prior to consideration for an assistantship. Appointments are for a 12 month period requiring 20 hours of assigned duties per week. Compensation includes a tuition waiver for six doctoral courses per year plus an annual stipend of $15,000, and individual health care coverage.

    Faculty/Sports Psychologist

    General Description
    The United States Sports Academy, “America’s Sports University,” is seeking a faculty member in Sports Psychology. The successful candidate will have both teaching and administrative responsibilities at the doctoral, masters and bachelors degree levels in both a residential and on-line, distance-learning environment.

    Qualifications
    An earned Terminal Degree in the disciplines of sport psychology, psychology with an emphasis on sport; 5-7 years of teaching experience and evidence of scholarly productivity. Prior experience with distance learning administration and online delivery systems is preferred. Excellent computer literacy, verbal and written communications skills are required.

    Secretary

    General Description
    The United States Sports Academy is seeking a highly experienced secretary with thorough knowledge of clerical skills and office administration. The Individual will provide clerical/secretarial support to Senior Administrators.

    Qualifications
    The successful candidate must have excellent grammar, spelling, verbal and organizational skills; typing skills of at least 60 wpm and computer skills-MS Office. Some college and/or technical training is a plus.
