Degree Completion Checklist

1. Completed all Degree Requirements as stated in the academic catalog under which you are governed. (Students entering the MSS program prior to 2010-2011 academic year, and those who have not changed catalogs to the 2010-2011 catalog, must register for the Master’s Comprehensive Exam and must follow steps a, b, and c below. Students entering in 2010-2011 and after will complete the Master’s Portfolio in place of the Comprehensive Exam and may ignore steps a, b, c, and d).

   1. Applied and Registered for the Comprehensive Examination through the Registrar’s Office. Go to the Student Services web page, under “Forms,” for the Off–Campus Comprehensive Examination Application form.
   2. Ensured that all required information is included on the Comprehensive Examination Application (i.e., Name as it should appear on the diploma plaque, mailing address, etc.)
   3. Paid the Required Comprehensive Examination fee in the amount of $175.

   4. Complete the form and fax, mail or email the document to the office of the Registrar at:

2. Completed the Exit Survey. Exit Surveys are incorporated in the comprehensive exam and should have been completed at the end of the exam. Students completing the portfolio will complete an online exit survey.
3. Cleared all financial obligations to the Academy.
4. Paid the Required Comprehensive Examination fee in the amount of $175.
5. Completed the Exit Survey. Effective June 2008, Exit Surveys are incorporated in the Comprehensive Examination and should have been completed at the end of the exam.
6. Cleared all financial obligations to the Academy.
7. If a student is required to take the Comprehensive Exam and should the student not successfully pass the Comprehensive Exam on the first attempt; the student must re–apply for a second attempt through the Office of the Registrar by submitting another Off– Campus Comprehensive Exam Application and paying the required fee of $175.
8. Once all steps are completed, and the student successfully passes the Comprehensive Exam OR successfully completed the Master’s Portfolio, the degree will be conferred and a complimentary copy of each student’s academic transcript will be mailed to the address on file in the Registrar’s Office. In addition, a commemorative brick bearing your name will be placed on the Walk of Fame, as a graduate of the Academy. Comprehensive Exam Result Letters will be mailed to students.
9. Applied for graduation by submitting the Masters Graduation Application located on the Academy’s website, Current Students, Forms & Applications and paid the required graduation fee.
10. Complete and submit online the M.S.S. Graduation Application” located under Forms and Applications for Current Students.
11. For Financial Aid Recipients: Completed the Financial Aid Exit Interview (Mapping Your Future).
12. Graduates who wish to order graduation regalia may order directly from Graduate Supply House at http://www.hendrickgradsupply.com/index.php.
13. Don‘t forget to join the Alumni Association!
