Dr. T.J. Rosandich
Vice President and Chief Academic Officer
Dr. Thomas J. Rosandich serves as Vice President for the United States Sports Academy, where he earned both his master's and doctoral degrees. In addition to having oversight responsibility for the Academy's administrative and financial functions, he is also chairs the Technology Committee and is responsible for international programs. Dr. Rosandich rejoined the staff at the Academy's main campus in 1994 after spending nine years in Saudi Arabia, where he was general manager of Saudi American Sports. In addition to running the company, based in Riyadh, Dr. Rosandich also served in other roles during his stay in the Middle East, such as the development of sports programs in the Arabian Gulf region and as the advisor to the President of the General Organization for Youth and Sports in Bahrain. A published author, Dr. Rosandich has served as a member of the Academy faculty, teaching in both the graduate degree and international certification programs.

Dr. Arthur G. Ogden
Associate Dean of Academic Administration and Undergraduate Studies
Dr. Arthur G. Ogden has served in education for over forty years as a vice president of academic affairs, a head football coach at the high school, junior college, and collegiate levels, an athletic director at the high school and collegiate levels, a dean of liberal arts, a graduate dean, and a college president. He has taught in the Kingdom of Bahrain in the Middle East and in Botswana on the African Continent. A native of Miami, Florida, Dr. Ogden earned his bachelor's degree from LaSalle University, his master's degree from the University of Delaware, and his doctor of philosophy degree from Walden University. He is also a member of the Alpha Epsilon Honor Society. He has coached football at the collegiate level for over 12 years and has served as Athletics Director at the collegiate level for over 10 years.

Dr. Fred Cromartie
Chair of Sports Management
Dr. Cromartie, an Associate Professor, earned his Ed.D. and M.S.S. from the United States Sports Academy. He also received an M.A. in Human Resource Development from Webster University and a B.A. from Ripon College. Dr. Cromartie has worked at the Academy as an Admissions Counselor, as a Graduate Assistant and as Director of Student Services before becoming a full time faculty member. Dr. Cromartie's experiences include teaching, coaching and administration in the areas of sports management and sports medicine.

Dr. Enrico Esposito
Chair of Sports Medicine
Dr. Esposito received his Bachelor's degree in psychology with a minor in biology from Catholic University of America. He received a Dual-Master's of sport science degree in sports medicine and sport fitness management from the United States Sports Academy. He went on to receive his Doctorate of Chiropractic from Life University, where he received a scholarship from the sports chiropractic department and traveled with Life University's Nationally-ranked track teams as an athletic trainer. Dr. Esposito has an extensive background in sports medicine, sports chiropractics and sports performance coaching. He is a chiropractic physician with certifications in teaching, athletic training, strength and conditioning, rehabilitation, exercise physiology and sport safety and he has done consulting work within the occupational health and safety industry and the facility construction industry. He is a NATA - Certified Athletic Trainer and an NSCA - Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist. He has served as an athletic trainer and strength coach at the high school, college, and Olympic levels. He also is the owner of the Pro-Active Sports Medicine Center, and is a certified CPR/First Aid/AED instructor who has been teaching for the American Red Cross for over 25 years.
Dr. Kelly Flanagan
Chair of Sports Studies
Dr. Kelly Flanagan is a 2004 graduate of the United States Sports Academy with a Doctor of Sport Management degree. He obtained his Master of Sport Science in sport management from the Academy in 2000. He is a 1993 graduate of the University of Central Oklahoma with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism. Flanagan completed his master's mentorship with Bowl Games Hawaii and his doctoral mentorship in communications with the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl. Dr. Flanagan has also worked in the sports departments for the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Fort Worth Star-Telegram and Mobile Press-Register. He also works as a course writer for the Academy, having written courses in Sports Journalism, Contemporary Issues in Sports and Coaching Wrestling.
Dr. Sally Ford
Chair of Sports Coaching
Dr. Sally Ford specializes in coaching foot speed and has developed athletes from pre-adolescent soccer players to Major League Baseball players. At Tusculum College in Greenville, Tennessee she was Chair of Physical Education, Sports Science and Sport Management. She also developed the sports administration program at Pima Community College in Tucson, Arizona where she was a faculty and academic advisor. Ford serves in the National Association for Sport & Physical Education (NASPE) Convention Committee. She earned her Ph.D. in health education from Southern Illinois University and her master’s degree in physical education at Eastern Illinois. Dr. Ford earned a bachelor’s degree in physical education from McKendree College in Lebanon, Illinois.
Betsy Smith
Associate Dean of Continuing Education and Distance Learning
Betsy R. Smith was a member of the Academy team involved in a series of special projects with the Ministry of Education in the Kingdom of Bahrain. Such projects included design and implementation of fitness testing, interscholastic sports, physical education curriculum and sports medicine programs in the government schools. Smith is a former playing tennis professional with national and collegiate rankings. She has been consistently selected by the Professional Tennis Registry (PTR) as one of the top 200 teaching professionals in the United States. Smith received her B.A. in Physical Education from Stephens College and her M.S. in Exercise and Sport Science/Sport Psychology from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. She has been included in Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges, Outstanding College Athletes of America, and is currently enrolled in the doctoral program at the United States Sports Academy.
Dr. Brian Wallace
Chair of Sports Fitness
Dr. Brian Wallace earned his Ph.D in Nutrition and Movement Science at Florida State University. He also holds a Master of Science in Exercise Physiology and a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education, both of which were received from Southern Illinois University. Wallace worked at the Bosse Sports and Health Club in Boston, where he was executive director of the lifestyle and performance center. He also worked as Senior Vice President of Applied Physiology and Nutrition for Evolution of Sports Science in Boston. Wallace served as the Director of Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation, Fitness and Testing at Tallahassee Memorial Regional Medical Center while serving as an assistant professor at Thomas College and Tallahassee Community College. Dr. Wallace is a Fellow of the American College of Sports Medicine with numerous publications in scientific, medical and fitness journals including Medicine and Science in Sports and Exercise, Journal of Strength and Conditioning Research, and Physician and Sports Medicine. With over 20 years in health, fitness and athletics as a researcher, professor, coach/trainer, and player, Dr. Wallace represents the gold standard in research and application. His training, certifications, and experience with everyone from Olympic and professional athletes to cardiac and diabetic patients insure quality supervision of all programs. Peer reviewed publications and ‘living lab’ experience and analysis over the past 20 years has allowed Dr. Wallace to create a testing and training system which is simply not available in the health/fitness industry today.
Mr. Craig Bogar
Assistant Dean of Student Services
Mr. Bogar lives in Spanish Fort, Alabama, and is currently the Assistant Dean of Student Services at the Academy and is in the doctoral program. Bogar has worked at the Academy since November 2005 and has also served as the Assistant Dean of Administration and Finance and the Director of Administration. In March of 2007, he was assigned to teach a one-week course in Sport Administration in the Kingdom of Bahrain. Prior to the Academy, Bogar was a college athletics director for 14 years at two NAIA institutions. He also coached swimming and track at different times at those two schools. He has an additional 11 years of experience as a college recreation/intramurals director and instructor. Bogar was voted the Athletic Director of the Year by the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), in 2002-2003, and was voted the Southeast Region Athletic Director of the Year by the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) and the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference. Bogar has a bachelor’s degree from Bryant University, in Rhode Island, where he was swim team captain and received the Scholar-Athlete Graduation Award. He has a master’s degree from the University of Maryland. Bogar is married with two daughters. His wife, Dr. Christine Bogar, is the assistant director of student services and adjunct professor at the University of South Alabama Fairhope campus.
Glaucio Scremin
Faculty - Sports Management
Dr. Scremin recently completed his doctor of education (Ed.D.) degree in sports management at the Academy. For the past three years he has served as a teaching assistant. Scremin’s doctoral dissertation was titled “Antecedents and Consequences of Team Identity.” His research study employed a sophisticated structural-equation model to statistically test several theoretical constructs involving motivation, team loyalty, and team identity in soccer. Scremin earned his bachelor’s degree in health sciences at Lock Haven (Pennsylvania) University and his master’s degree in sports studies at the Academy. He is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist and is further certified as a Health/Fitness Instructor by the American College of Sport Medicine. His research interests include sport consumer behavior and international sport law.
Jeffrey Chamberlin
Doctoral Teaching Assistant
Jeffery Chamberlin earned an M.S.S. in Sports Management from the United States Sports Academy. He is currently pursuing a D.S.M. from the same institution. He has earned a B.S. and an A.A.S. in Legal Assistant Studies from The Pennsylvania College of Technology (Penn State Affiliate) and an A.A. in Letters, Arts and Sciences from The Pennsylvania State University. Additionally, he holds a Sports Agent Advisor Certification from Sports Management Worldwide. He has previously held positions in teaching, the legal profession, the juvenile justice system and intercollegiate athletics.
David Gargone
Doctoral Teaching Assistant
David Gargone earned his M.A.T. in Secondary Education with a specification in Physical Education from Rockford College and a B.S. in Business Management from the University of Scranton. His experiences in sports management include collegiate baseball coaching at the junior college and Division III levels, administrative positions in athletic event and facilities management, and years of service at the high school level in officiating and coaching. He is currently enrolled in the doctoral program at the United States Sports Academy.
Dr. Lawrence Bestmann
Faculty Emeritus/Faculty
Dr. Bestmann earned his bachelor’s degree in physical education and his master’s degree in adult education from Florida State University. He received his Ph.D in health and physical education from the University of Utah. Bestmann was a member of the Florida State national championship gymnastics team. He has taught on all levels of education and coached gymnastics at the University of Puerto Rico and at several high schools in Florida and California. Bestmann was a member of the Academy’s first project team in the Kingdom of Bahrain. In 2003, Bestmann was inducted into the World Acrobatics Society Hall of Fame for his lifetime contributions to international gymnastics.
